When a disruptive event leads to product shortages, it's often suggested that supply chains switch from a just-in-time to a just-in-case model. This implies that the supply chain was overly streamlined, without sufficient inventory to meet the sudden surge in demand. However, maintaining just-in-case inventory could negatively impact financial performance. According to Dr. Michael Watson, Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University, Author, and Business Advisor, the terms "just-in-time" and "just-in-case" while catchy, may not provide effective guidance for inventory management. Find out what two common misconceptions often lead companies astray in our latest discussion. https://lnkd.in/eWu3ufpn #InventoryManagement #SupplyChain #Inventory #DemandForecasting

AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) have been moving things around on behalf of humans for over half a century. Their effectiveness, however, is being challenged by a more technologically sophisticated approach - the autonomous mobile robot (AMR). AMRs are smart enough to recognize and react to people, cars and forklifts. Rather than being restricted to fixed routes, AMRs can navigate dynamically, allowing it to plan its own paths to travel quickly and efficiently anywhere it needs to go. And, with Zebra Robotics Fetch AMR system, you can easily automate point-to-point and fulfillment-related material handling tasks.
